Field Operations Technician

GahwajiX is a Saudi startup specializing in operating self-service coffee and matcha machines in the Eastern Province. We aim to deliver an exceptional coffee experience through 7 smart machines located in universities, hospitals, and business buildings.

About the Job

We are looking for a Field Operations Technician who will be primarily responsible for operating, maintaining, and restocking 7 self-service coffee machines distributed across 3 locations in the Eastern Province (business buildings and hospitals). The role combines technical maintenance with daily operations and requires someone who enjoys fieldwork and can take responsibility independently.

Your Day to Day

• Daily restocking rounds across the three locations + quick cleaning + visual inspection
• Deep cleaning of the brewing unit + grinder (weekly maintenance)
• Comprehensive preventive maintenance according to the manufacturer’s manual

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Maintenance

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on all machines: cleaning the brewing unit, grinder, and milk system
• Diagnose and fix technical issues: electrical, mechanical, milk cooling systems, and control boards
• Calibrate the grinder and coffee dosage to ensure cup quality (grind size + dose calibration)
• Monitor electronic payment systems (SurePay, STC Pay) and report any issues
• Coordinate with manufacturer technical support for complex issues

2. Daily Operations & Restocking

• Refill coffee bean containers (2 × 1,200g per machine), matcha, milk, and cups
• Conduct daily site visits to machine locations
• Ensure beans have rested properly before use (14–21 days after roasting)
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking before depletion
• Clean machines and surrounding areas to maintain a professional appearance

3. Reporting & Communication

• Send a brief daily report on each machine (status, inventory, notes)
• Document all issues and repairs in maintenance logs
• Relay customer feedback from the field to management
• Communicate professionally with site management (universities/hospitals)

Qualifications & Requirements

Education (one of the following):

• Technical diploma in HVAC (acceptable)
• Technical diploma in electrical/electronic systems (preferred)
• Technical diploma in mechatronics (preferred)
• High school/industrial diploma with hands-on maintenance experience (acceptable)

Basic Requirements:

• Saudi national
• Valid driver’s license + own car (fieldwork across 3 locations)
• Physically fit (lifting supplies, frequent movement)
• Flexible working hours
• Proactive mindset and ability to work independently without constant supervision

Preferred (not mandatory):

• Experience maintaining coffee machines or vending machines
• English proficiency (for manuals and technical support communication)
• Familiarity with digital tools and systems (dashboards, reporting tools)
